Float needle

Post by Geoffrey »

Hello all,
I ordered part 376/089 and I specified for a 389 carb, and Jampot Spares sent float needles for a Concentric carb. I complained and they kindly sent me two more needles but still for a Concentric. The viton tipped needles JS sent are identical to the one I have in a Conentric Mk1. The needles JS sent me are 1.5mm (aprox) shorter than the 2 piece all metal needle I have in the 389. Can I use the needles JS sent me in my Monobloc 389, even if they are shorter?

A happy Xmas and all the best in the comming 2008 for all of you fellow members and your families.

Cheers

Without checking the parts list I can't be sure but I think the prefix 376 in your part number gives you the part for a 376 carb. for a 389 you need to prefix it 389.

Check the parts list first though in case I am wrong.

376/089 is common to both 376 and 389 monoblocs. If the original is the correct item, then the shorter one will lead to flooding, try it and see. Strangely, JSL don't list a float needle for a Concentric.
