Ok here we go again.Old bike new probem. I now seem to be getting engine oil on the contact points. So Iam guessing that the camshaft seal is leaking and allowing oil to be flung over the points.
what I need to know is :
1, is this seal made of rubber or felt ?
2, do I need any special tools to fit it ?
3, how involved is it ?
I ask these questions as I cannot find any decent information/pics about this . All repays will be greatly received .

I think it is a normal lipped seal, certainly not felt.
JSL have then in stock, 042183. Simple job to do.

250 lightweight camshaft oil seal
Hi, Yes Mr Circlip I too was woundering about this as it has always smoked/leaked oil . Approx 100miles to a pint . But having just fitted new rings /vales etc when running with R/H engine casing off I can see oil dribbling from cam /points housing. I have now removed seal and it is torn and brittle. So just a mater of waiting for one to arrive and see what happens next.
