Hi Mike
If you buy them from Jampot Spares you are helping the future of the bikes. See the recent special purchase of the Hoffman bearings as an example. They may be a smidgin cheaper elsewhere but JSL will give you the best quality, great service and good value and you are supporting all the other members.

Oh, and also you may well have your order handled by Hollywood star ROBERT REDFORD! No other supplier can boast thet!

A bearing is a bearing. I am on a small monkey infested island to the east of Thailand and Malaysia,-about the size of the IOM.

Yesterday I changed the front wheel bearings on my 250 AJS. I hammered them out and went to the outboard motor and chain saw shop. I gave him the bearing and said '2 please" he came back with two boxes with the right numbers on them. Ive got the box in my hand now.

FAG, 6302.2RSR

A bearing is a bearing any where in the world.

Could it be easier to get parts on a tropical desert island than it is in south England?

Dont think its been modified!! has it?

A bearing is not a bearing anywhere in the world only the basic number maybe the same, there are many variations around the same basic one, just read the thread about Hoffman bearings to see something of this. JSL should be aware of the subtle variations that maybe required for our bikes.

Biscuit is right the taper rollers we need are hard to obtain. However i have seen a kit that enables other manufactures taper roller bearings to be used,we have been sent a sample to test in the workshop at JSL. It is a simple and beautifully made piece of kit.Watch this space as they say
