Your wheel has not been modified Circlip, that which you describe is correct for lightweights. The heavyweights use adjustable taper roller bearings.

Not 'useless' but 'unserviceable' - quite different, as unservicable may be restorable to serviceable! The recognised shorthand term in the RAF and at Boeing, Lockheed, Douglas and British Airways to my personal knowledge since Pontius was a pilot. Edited by - deshollier on 25 Feb 2008 09:11:52 AM

Having completed my National Service in the RAF, Brown Job jargon means little to me. I remember getting rifles, guns and cannons into the armoury with a u/s ticket attached, but no blighter had the savvy to say what was wrong.

I hate to admit that when I was an apprentice it took me ages to understand the meaning of M/T when written on gas bottles

Rick Edwrads is correct that a modern taper roller beraing adapted to fit the full width rear wheel without modification has been sourced and hopefully soon to be available via the club spares scheme or the correct Timkin bearing is still avaiable but at 80 GBP each.

Yet another good reason for everybody supporting JSL,I find it also very encouraging that Rick Edwards is taking the time to comment and contribute with a JSL perspective.
