i am trying to find anyone with any photos of the above listed bike to give me an idea for restoration.
also any specs or tech info would be appreciated.

CafeRacer have a scan of the 1949 Ajay brochure, shows one side (in strange colours)

Roy Bacons book on AJS restoration (the bible)shows a few bits and pieces, and lists a lot of general useful info. Also shows other models, so you can compare things.
Pioneer Cycles near Brisbane sells Bruce Main Smith photocopies of the owners manual and parts list for most years, be worth checking with them.
Ask away if you have any specific questions, I have a mostly completed example.
