Notice in new photos a '35 AJS with plunger suspension???? What gives? Any history someone? Douglas

Maybe the back frame was interchangable with a later one so someone decided to upgrade for comfort.

Obviously I know nowt about it so am only making guess. When I've practiced a bit I'm going to start guessing the quiz answers equally wildly.

Lots of small companies offered "bolt on" rear suspension kits just after the war. My guess is this is one of those and that it was fitted in the late 40's /early 50's - I don't think they were around in 1935.

AMC Sunbeam fitted plunger rear ends at of production 1940 ish, the few that escaped ended up down under I believe.
Norton of course had them and I`msure there was at least one other,
This AJS is an amateur conversion
