ADVICE re AJS 31

Am considering buying a 1960 AJS 31 DeLuxe. I'm new to these machines - is there anything that I should specifically look out for or check? Any advice gratefully received. Gus

Yes, listen for rumble or rattling noises from the depth of the crankcase. Could be main bearings or bigend ditto. If you want a standard/original looking machine, familiarize yourself with the model range through study of parts lists, brochures and by looking at known authentic bikes. Otherwise use your common sense and take her for a spin. Good luck and don't forget to tell us what happens!
