Speedometer or Cable

Post by davehutch »

I have replaced the Speedo drive for £50 and it has made no difference. The inner cable has no frays or breaks. So am I right in thinking it can’t be anything else but the Speedo it self? Any advice on where to go for a new or an exchange Speedo?
Cheers Dave

David Woods ( www.chronometricspeedos.co.uk ) is your man if it is a chronometric speedo, (exchange is around £120 and repair £50), I believe that he will point you in the right direction if you need a magnetic one repairing.

There are reproduction speedos turning up in different places for around £60 but I have no knowledge of their lifespan or accuracy.

Gaggs of Nottingham also do a good speedo exchange service, and may be worth a try.
