Threads and drill sizes.

Post by mike.dowling »

50 years ago when I started my apprenticeship I was given a ZEUS chart
which contained all the thread details and drilling sizes for tapping.
Unfortunately over the years it became dog eared and fell to pieces
and now I need the information to do some repairs I dont know where to look has anybody any ideas of a web site that may have this information.
Regards

HI,
try www.efunda.com and type in 'drill tap sizes' in the search box at the top of the page.

Top tip - if it needs more than 2 bolts to hold it on, its probably important...

Easy just get a nut the size of the thread you want to tap and find a drill that passes through the nut as snug as possible and thats your tapping size
