Speedo trip reset cable. What length?

Hello
I'm having the speedo on my 1961 G12 CSR rebuilt. Can anyone tell me what length of trip reset cable should be fitted? It looks as if the end of a 6 inch cable will stick out abou 1/2 an inch from the bottom of the speedo. The other option is and 8 inch cable.

If you have your speedo rebuilt you need to buy the 8 inch trip reset cable not the 6 inch type.....
