John Bolton is an excellent mechanic on AMC bikes. He is a club member and active participant at Heart of England section. He is usually busy so you may have a little wait but it is worth it.

Is anyone aware of a good and reliable motorcycle servicing and repair facility/person based in either Northumberland or Tyne and Wear ?

Yep, another vote for John Bolton. Genuine and very knowledgeable guy. Always willing to help. Saturday mornings at his workshop can be more like a club meet with a load of interesting bikes being worked on.
