Thanks for the clue, I'm starting to see how this use to fit on there. Once it's done I'll refit everything and take some pictures.

How did you route the wires for it? Back up the swing arm ?

On my '54 G3/LS I utilised the rear chain guard mounting. I used a short length of 5/16" threaded rod and a shorter length of 8mm I.D stainless tube as a spacer. Finished it off with a stainless dome nut. Not original but it works for me.

Yours is same as my 1960 G3 ‘cept the switch is on the outside of the mount plate.

The loom was originally routed along the swinging arm and then up the front frame down tube - I kept it that way.

The switch was mounted as I believe it had been originally, there were wear marks and the cable routing to suggest this - have I got it wrong?

That's how I would think it _should_ be routed as well, my question - what did they use to tie the wires down? Zip ties I don't think had been invented yet =)

Rubber ties were used - see the parts manual for your machine - not sure if these are available now. I'm happy to use tie wraps as I feel they are aesthetically nicer, and can always be replaced at a later date if the original style is available.

You can still get the rubber ties on fleabay! Search for "John Bull cable ties".

I tried the rubber ties on eBay a few years ago and the ends pulled through, gave up and used cable ties.
