Hello I wonder if my pistons in my 1965 G12 are 7.5 or 8.5.
Can I find out by measuring through the spark plug hole? What vill then be the measure?
Also I would like to know if the piston size is the only difference between a G12 and a G12 CSR MOTOR ??
Exept of course the ignition system.
I always thougth they had different camshafts but have now learnt that they are alike!
Regards

G12 / G12 CSR
The CSR camshafts are the same as the other twins unless the optional speed kit is installed.
In 1965 & later the standard G12 pistons were 7.5:1 & the CSR standard was 8.5:1. 9.5:1 were optional for the CSR. After almost half-century there might be anything lurking in the engine, especally since all these were unavailable for a long time. I know of no way to identify them through the plug hole unless you have another engine with known type fitted to compare.
Look in Christian's Archives for me drawings to identify the various 72mm twin pistons.
Cheers, Don.
