dynamo chain

Post by bob »

Finally getting round to fitting full electrics to my 1953 16MS .
( it has had no electrics for many years )
There are 2 alternative dynamo drive chains listed 46 or 49 link .Endless .
As the dynamo sprocket is fixed at 17 tooth does the correct chain depend on the number of teeth on the crankshaft sprocket and if so what are the number of teeth on this ? .
Thanks .

On later models they changed from 17 teeth to 21 teeth on the crank sprocket. I still run the 17tooth and it still spins fast enough for me to equalize lights at 20 mph.
