model 8 front spindle axle

Post by beesy »

putting the front wheel back on my model 8, i can't remember if the washer on the brake plate side of the spindle goes on the inside or outside of the fork leg.

its part number 2 in fig 30 on page 98 of the f neil book.

i would appreciate if someone could check theirs and let me know.

cheers.

Well I always have a washer behind the nut, They are easier to replace than forks if nuts chew them up.

This washer item No2 is only on 350 cc lightweights. It appears to go between the inside the forks, outside the brake plate.
