Been a long time since i was a grease monkey earning my living on Humbers, Hillmans and the odd Ford Zodiac but as my dimming memory recalls the post was isolated and the low tension wires connected to the springs on them there points too. Or have i caught Wilco's problem over the web????

Well i remember there was two tophat insulators above and below the spring on cars, but i forget what the SR's setup is.

I stand corrected Wilko, told you it was a long time ago! Back in the days you could make some adjustments before engines were run by computer chips!
