Hello all,
I'm assembling the rocker box on my '54 18S, with parts from various sources, and seem to have two styles of valve-side rocker to choose from:

I'd guess the groove is there to direct oil to a specific location such as the valve stem. The spares lists tell me that from 1954 on, there were different part numbers for the inlet and exhaust valve-side rockers; the illustration also has the groove showing.
Does anyone know if the groove is the difference between the inlet & exhaust versions? If so, does the grooved rocker match with the inlet or the exhaust valve?
Cheers & Happy Holidays,
Dave
