Hi
Gradually stripping down the clutch to replace the rubbers as the clutch pressure plate was full of goo when I took it off. I have removed the clutch plates and the cover plate screws but the plate itself won't budge. There seems very little to get any purchase on to prize the cover off.
So any hints on how best to safely remove the cover plate?

I used a couple of screwdrivers, locate the cover plate join in the spring holes and the shock absorber boss provided enough of a fulcrum to start the cover plate moving. It is an exact fit so needs to come out straight.

Thanks tony54, managed it after about an hour with the aid of some bent tip circlip pliers to eventually prize the plate off.
Well worth it as, as I suspected, the shock absorber rubbers had turned to goo. Seems like the clutch may never have been apart before!
