Is this a single camshaft bush ? , Neville (spridler) had it fitted on his 1954 350 single and replaced it years ago
I cant see this design anywhere
Is it 000651 short bush , ive seen some without the internal spiral groove
has the design changed ? and are they interchangeable
all my pre 1950 singles are just plain bushes 000651. when did it change
Everyday I learn something new !

In 2005. Have just dug out the invoice.
If it's of any help I bought the necessary 3 x short bush 000651 and one long 000652 from club spares on invoice 70681 of 10th Nov 2005.
They are still in the engine now.

Re: single camshaft bush ?
I think the long bush is the only one that needs the spiral groove as its the only bush that exits the engine , the others (short 000651) are all contained with caps or internally
Im now convinced that the feature on teh short bush is no longer offered and hence thats why ive not seen one
The longest bush 000652 looks to have a LH 9/16-12 UNC. spiral groove to keep oil in the cam chest , no wonder its difficult to make !
Blimey you keep your paperwork a long time !

Although it came from a 54, it's actually the later bush from the coil ignition models.

Re: single camshaft bush ?
I have been having trouble with oil passing the long bush into the magneto chain case.
The long bushes I have are only scrolled at one end. The one you show appears scrolled over its whole length.
I have swapped the whole inner cover to see if it stops oil getting into the mag chain case but have not tested it yet.
Might be worth trying the different type of bush if the issue persists.
