Anyone out there know where to get spring collers for the Paioli rear shocks on the Harris G80?

Paioli shockers

Hi John,

The Harris T140e also used Paioli rear shockers but they don't seem to list the bits separately in the parts book. I'd try somewhere like Hawkshaw's (Liverpool) or T8 (Felixstowe) first. If you've a local classic bike shop get them to phone the factory (they generally don't want to deal directly).
You'll find service details for the shockers in the archives.

Hi Glenn,
thanks I didn't realise the T140e used them, Hawkshaws are usually good for parts. I found the Paiolis on e-bay, thought I would renvovate them for the sake of having standard shocks. You asked me earlier about silencers, a left hand BMW upturned looks pretty close to the Lanfranconi!
Did you see the G80/Enfield write up in Real Classic?

Hi John,

The T140E used Pailoli rear shockers but unfortunately I don't think that they're the same as those fitted to the G80.
However, I'm pretty sure that Hawkshaws do list a refurb kit and they've a catalogue on line.

Yes I saw the article in Real Classic - I wish mine had electric start and twin discs.

Hi Glenn,
I contacted Hawkshaw, no luck as the refurb kit doesn't have the collets. T8 are the same. Just have to keep plugging away untill I find something. Electric is handy if you stall at traffic lights!

Harris still had Paioli shocks in stock about a year ago. Part number is 630005. I bought some & the springs had surface rust which fortunately polished off Ok.
Hagons list shocks for the Harris but they have to be mounted upside down so the brake torque arm needs replacing with a flat bar or squash the tubular one.
The refurb kits haven't been available for many years.

Hi,
thanks for the reply. I am currently having the springs re-chromed after Alan kindly made some collers for me.
